SEO: Link building

Remember web rings in the early 90’s? Web rings were groups of sites that linked to each other to help increase chances that someone would see their site. Web rings were the foundation of today’s link building and social networking. While we don’t use the term “web ring” anymore, the concept is the most important and effective search engine optimization strategy, essentially getting people to see your site.

To expand your websites reach or to build you own web, all you need to do is add your entire URL (http://www.yourdomain.com) to another website.

Ideas include:

- Search engines (Google, Yahoo, MSN)
Submit your URL

- Social networking sites (Facebook, Twitter)

- Blog/ Forums

- Content Sites (Squidoo, Digg)

- Directories (craigslist.org)

The more people that have the possibility to visit your site the more chance there is that someone will actually visit.

SEO: Keywords

Keywords are a 1 to 3 word phrase that best describes your product, service or website theme.

If you were looking for your site what words would you type in the search bar? Choose 3-5 keywords and write your website content to include those words often. Include them in your article headings, in the body your article, image file names; as many times as it makes sense without over doing it. The more often you use those keywords throughout your site, the more relevant search engines will find your site for those keywords.

SEO: Craigslist.org

Craigslist.org is a very popular site used by millions each month.

We recommend using craigslist.org per their terms to post a well written ad including your relevant keywords and entire URL (http://www.yourdomain.com) advertised in the categories that relate to your line of business in the cities that you service.

Google AdWords set-up $99

For $99 JMJ Website Design will research keywords, write ads and then set up a Google AdWords campaign targeting your specific needs.

We need you to open the account and we can then give you a promotional code which will fund your account with $75 worth of free advertising (limited offer).
Once your account has been created we will go in and create a campaign based on your preferences.

Please follow this link to sign up for an account:
Google AdWords Sign-up

You will need to provide us with the highest amount that you are willing to pay for 1 click (Maximum Cost-Per-Click) and a daily budget. Google has set up aTraffic Estimator so you can get an idea of how much traffic a particular word or phrase would get.

We can then target specific websites (any website that has Google AdSense) or search terms, and then you can further define your target market by choosing what city or zip code to place your ads, what times of day you want to show your ads, what days of the week, etc. It takes about 3-4 hours and your ads will be live.

Once your campaign is active you will be able to check it at anytime and see what ads/keywords are resulting in clicks, and what clicks are resulting in someone filling out the information on the contact form so that you can weed out the clicks that aren’t resulting in a lead and focus on the keywords that are generating leads.

After the initial $75 worth of free advertising has been spent you will need to fund your account (payable to Google) to fit your budget. You have the ability to pause and start your campaign as needed.

We will monitor or make changes to your campaign at $25 per hour or you can take over the campaign and manage it yourself.

Getting Started Guide

JMJ Website Design is a two person website design company owned and operated by husband and wife team Joe and Manda Mendoza. We work from our home and are located in Orlando, Florida, but have the ability to design websites for anyone in the world by utilizing the phone, e-mail, video conferencing and shipping services.

We want your website project with JMJ Website Design to go as smoothly as possible. We’d like to share with you our 5 easy steps to prepare for a successful website design process with JMJ.

Step 1: Discuss your project with JMJ Website Design for an accurate quote, start date and time line.

Daydream about your ideal website and communicate your ideas to JMJ. Share as much information about your website project as you can. How do you want your site to look; layout/ colors/ fonts etc.? If there is a website out there that you like – provide us with the domain name.

After JMJ has provided a quote, start date and time line and you are ready to move forward; we will send you an invoice via PayPal.com requesting a 50% deposit to reserve your start date.

Step 2: Choose a domain name.

Once initial payment has been received, we are happy to register your domain name and set-up your e-mail accounts for you. We provide hosting at $5 per month (some limitations apply), with your first month free. We will invoice you on the 1st of the month, also via PayPal.com.

If you choose to register your domain name yourself, but would like us to host your site, you must point your nameservers to our servers in order for us to host your site.

Please point your nameservers to:
Nameserver 1: NS.WEBAIR.NET (all caps)
Nameserver 2: NS2.WEBAIR.NET (all caps)

Additional settings may be required for your e-mail accounts to work properly, this is determined on a case by case basis.

If you choose your own hosting, you must provide JMJ FTP access to your domain name.

Step 3: Gather your website content.

Gather all of the content needed for your website; including, but not limited to: digital media, videos, images, photos, text descriptions, articles, contact info and any other info you want added to your site.

Step 4: Once you have gathered all the info needed send to JMJ.

You may send your thoughts, ideas, and files via e-mail to joe@jmjwebsitedesign.com and manda@jmjwebsitedesign.com. Large files can be zipped then e-mailed or will need to copied to a flash drive or CD-ROM and mailed/ shipped to us.

Step 5: When your start date arrives we’ll start designing your website.

We stay in contact during the design phase and ask you to approve layout before we begin adding your content and coding the site; you are allowed one round of changes. Upon final approval of the layout we begin adding the content and functionality to the site: pages, menus, images, video, text, shopping carts, etc. After the content is added we again as for your approval (but only for the content we cannot go back to the layout at this point); again you are allowed only one round of changes.

Once the final requested changes have been made, the site will be complete and we will request final payment (remaining 50% via PayPal.)

After your site has been completed, we are more than happy to provide consultation, maintain your site and make changes at $25 per hour. We offer weekly and monthly maintenance rates at a discount when purchased in advanced.

We look forward to working with you and welcome any questions you may have.
